Texas Living

I moved to Ft. Worth, TX. about a year and a half ago from sunny California. What a transition I have had to make! A slower pace of living....that Southern drawl (you said what?)....fried foods added to my diet (yum and oh,no....weight gain!)....did I mention the Tornadoes? Earthquakes do not scare me, but those tornadoes make me nervous. I think it is the sounds of the sirens that do me in....those sirens are meant to warn you, but they unnerve me more than make me feel safer. The weather is pleasant enough.......a bit sticky at times, but all in all the weather is nice. The only thing I truly haven't mastered is figuring out when not to grab a sweater. Living in California where we have cold nights and during rain storms it is cold.....out here in Texas the temperature is up at night and sometimes even if it looks like it is cold, wet, and rainy from inside the house......surprise! Can't tell you how many times I bundled up thinking it was going to be cold only to peel off my sweater because is was warm and muggy! It has even snowed in Fort Worth several times since I have moved here. Not a great deal of snow...usually just a dusting. Love this part of the weather too! As in any state.....the best time of the year here in Texas is spring and fall. Not too hot and not too cold....and not usually muggy! Yea!
